Lindon Garron, PGA
Currently the Executive Director of the PGA of Canada Atlantic, Lindon is proud to be involved in the advancement of the PGA Professional and honored to be able to share his experience with members. Advancing member programs and services, and providing member support and counseling are priorities. Business development and financial wellness is a necessity for continued advancement.
Positions held in the past include General Manager of Glasgow Hills Resort & Golf Club in Prince Edward Island, Director of Golf Operations at The Algonquin in New Brunswick and Head Golf Professional at the Truro Golf Club in Nova Scotia.
A native of Atlantic Canada, Lindon is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A member of the PGA of Canada since 1981, Lindon has served as both the National and Zone President and in many capacities on both boards.
Lindon has always been very committed to his profession and prides himself in challenging the status quo to ensure the continued improvement of the PGA of Canada. As President of the PGA of Canada, he believed very strongly in getting to know the needs and wants of PGA members across the country and regularly visited other zone functions.
Lindon is dedicated to the continued development of his profession through improved membership and education programs with the ultimate goal being increased member employment opportunities. As Chairman of the PGA of Canada Membership & Education Committee Lindon was instrumental in the development of the competency based PGA PACE (Professional Advancement and Career Enhancement) Program.
He saw great value in a united industry and worked hard to develop relationships with fellow allied golf associations both nationally and internationally. Throughout his tenure as an officer and President of the PGA of Canada, a very strong relationship and a feeling of mutual respect was developed with the PGA of America. This translated into the PGA of America having a representative present at the PGA of Canada AGM during his tenure.
Lindon has been involved in the continued development of the golf industry through various marketing initiatives including Chairman of the Atlantic Golf Marketing Alliance, serving on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Golf Tourism Alliance, and being one of the founders of both the New Brunswick Golf Marketing Group and the Cavendish Beach Golf Marketing Group
Highlights of Lindon’s career include PGA of Canada Atlantic Lifetime Achievement Award, PGA of Canada Atlantic Hall of Fame Inaugural Inductee, PGA of Canada Atlantic Club Professional of the Year, Coach of Canada’s National Junior Team, PGA of Canada Merchandiser of the Year, President of the PGA of Canada Atlantic Zone, President of the PGA of Canada, an inaugural recipient of the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island Tourism Technology & Innovation Award and the recipient of the Ted Ticknor Memorial Award for Prostate Cancer Awareness.
