Matt Simmons is a dedicated and accomplished PGA of Canada member whose career in golf has spanned over four decades, marked by outstanding leadership, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the game. As the Director of Golf, Head Professional at Whitewater Golf Club since 2008, Matt has earned respect as a leader in the industry and is a proud recipient of the 2024 PGA of Manitoba Club Professional of the Year Award, which honours his significant contributions to the sport and dedication to club management, community service, and player development.
Matt has been instrumental in developing junior golf programs and fostering inclusive, welcoming club environments for golfers of all ages and skill levels. His hands-on involvement with junior initiatives, including partnerships with First Tee and community-based youth tournaments, reflects his passion for nurturing the next generation of players.
Throughout his career, Matt has served in key roles within the golf community, including his present positions as the Awards and Education Chair on the PGA of Manitoba Board and Vice President of Golf Manitoba, where he also serves as Tournament Chair. In these leadership capacities, Matt has played a pivotal role in advancing education, fostering Professional development, enhancing player development, and supporting tournaments and player experiences at every level.
