About

McLaren is a PGA of Canada Executive Professional with a broad range of golf operation experience and industry knowledge. His regard for the game of golf began at an early age, as a Junior Member at the SG&CC in 1978. Golf and family went together in the Taylor household. McLaren’s father Bill Taylor introduced the family to the game at an early age. He also volunteered at the club level, then became Executive Director of Golf Saskatchewan and was inducted as a builder into the Saskatchewan Golf Hall of Fame.

McLaren started in the golf business after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan. His PGA career started as an Assistant Professional at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club in 1993 which led to a Head Professional position at the SGCC West Course in 1998. He also sent 4 years as Heap Professional at Elk Ridge Resort, and 112 years as Head Professional and Executive Professional at Dakota Dunes Golf Links. In 2017, McLaren returned to the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club where he currently serves as General Manager and Executive Professional.
McLaren is a current Board Member of the PGA of Saskatchewan and has previously served provincially and nationally with the NGCOA. Family golf is a passion for McLaren as he enjoys coordinating a highly regarded junior program at SGCC that includes his 17 year-old son and 14 year-old daughter.
