Anne Balser
About
Anne's golf journey began at Digby Pines, where she nurtured her love for the game with her mother and two older sisters. As a junior, she competed in local and provincial tournaments, representing Team Nova Scotia at numerous National Championships.
She pursued higher education at the University of Victoria, where she was a member of the University Women’s Golf Team for five years, competing in the NAIA and representing the Canadian University Golf Team on four occasions. Anne graduated in 2012 with a degree in Exercise & Physical Health Education.
In 2017, Anne joined the PGA of Canada, refining her skills through teaching, coaching, and golf operations. From 2018-2021, she served as the Technical Director for Golf Nova Scotia, facilitating provincial championships and learn-to-play initiatives.
Currently, Anne is part of Oakfield Golf & Country Club's professional team, developing major Academy programs, overseeing women's programming and competitions, and assisting with day-to-day operations. In 2024, she was named the Class A Professional of the Year for the Atlantic Zone.
Anne's competitive resume includes numerous NAIA tournament wins, two Nova Scotia Women’s Amateur Champion titles, the 2010 Canadian University/College Golf Championship, and two PGA of Canada Atlantic Women’s Championship titles in 2017 and 2024.
Beyond her playing career, Anne is a provincially certified golf referee and Course Rater, dedicated to upholding fairness and quality in the golfing community.
