About
Having grown up in “The Home of Golf” (St. Andrews, Scotland), I was surrounded by the game from an early age. The town has a strong support of junior golf with a significant amount of the Links Trust revenue being reinvested into The St. Andrews Links Junior Golf Association which allows golfers under the age of 16 to play for free on the historic golf courses. I don't know if I would have been lucky enough to play golf if I had grown up elsewhere in Scotland.
After competing at the national level as a junior, I decided to turn professional and briefly pursue a career within the playing ranks. At that time, I had begun working at The Renaissance Club in the East Lothian’s of Scotland and this was where I realised my passion for working as a club professional was far stronger than my desire to play competitively for a living. Fortunately, I seemed to have more success on that side of the counter too!
In 2012, I was excited to find a seasonal Assistant Golf Professional position under Ron Laugher at Priddis Greens before moving over to The Calgary Golf and Country Club for 5 wonderful years as the Associate Golf Professional there. In 2018, I then made the move down to Cottonwood Golf and Country Club as their Head Golf Professional.
At the end of 2020, I moved to the West Coast to accept the Director of Golf role at The Vancouver Golf Club.
In my personal time, I enjoy exploring the local mountains with my dog (Stella) in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.
