Shaun Tyler

About
Shaun has been a member of the PGA of Canada since 2007, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Applied Science and Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) . A graduate of Humber‘s Professional Golf Management Program in 2008, Shaun then completed a Bachelor of Commerce at TMU (Marketing Major, Entrepreneurship Minor) He completed his MBA at the International School of Management, based out of Paris, France. While currently completing his PhD, Shaun works as a Professor in the Sport Management program at Humber College, as well as a Graduate Assistant in the Global Business Studies Department at Toronto Metropolitan University. Prior to his full time pursuits in academia, Shaun held a variety of roles as an Assistant/Associate professional, Teaching and Coaching, and Clubhouse Manager.
In addition to golf instruction, Shaun has lectured and taught in the fields of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Retail, Economics, Organizational Management, as well as Event Management and Club Policy. From a coaching standpoint, he has also been involved with Canada’s top ranked Men’s and Women’s Varsity College Golf Teams, serving as Assistant Coach at Humber College. In the fall of 2014 the Men’s team set a record for most consecutive Provincial titles for any College sport in Canada (9).
Playing and competing in events is something Shaun attempts to do when time is available. Mini-tours and professional hosts such as the Great Lakes Tour, Golf Canada (Canadian Open Qualifying) and PGA of Ontario and Canada have been some of the events he has participated in. Shaun acknowledges great experience from these events to helping and aiding with his coaching endeavours.
