Dennis Firth
About
With more than 25 years’ experience in the golf industry, Dennis Firth is recognized as a leader in the Canadian golf business. Working at four of Canada's top golf facilities, he has developed a reputation as an innovative, service-minded professional and has demonstrated a proven ability to build a strong club culture while developing loyal and dedicated teams around him.
Dennis has also been a member of the Club Management Association of Canada (CMAC) since 2019, investing over 300 hours of professional and leadership development, while pursing the Certified Club Manager designation (CCM).
He and his team were recipients of the 2021 Pat Fletcher PGA of Canada Retailer of the Year, and they are also 4-time recipients of the Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) Platinum Award which recognizes the best retail golf shops globally. The only golf club in Canada to be awarded this distinction in 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023.
In 2024, Dennis and his team hosted the Presidents Cup at The Royal Montreal Golf Club Canada’s largest golf tournaments on a number of occasions, Dennis brings a wealth of event experience, an extensive network of industry colleagues and is well known for creating memorable and impactful member events. He is currently seated as a board member with the BPG Co-op Buying Group, a Titleist & FootJoy Leadership Advisory Staff member and also a member of the Levelwear Clubhouse Council.
He also has an impressive record of success as a player throughout his career. He was the 2010 PGA of Ontario Head Professional/Assistant Champion, and his prior achievements include a 3rd place finish in the 2009 Ontario PGA Pro-am at TPC Sawgrass in Florida and has competed nationally in a number of Canadian PGA National Championships with his best finish coming at the 2008 Canadian PGA Club Professional Championship. Dennis is known for his attention to detail and a meticulous planner. He has hosted member/client trips to world renowned areas such as Scotland, Ireland, Pebble Beach, T.P.C. at Sawgrass, Bermuda and Cabot Links.
Dennis is a past board member of the PGA of Ontario, contributing Instructor for SCOREGolf magazine and a Professor at Humber College’s Professional Golf Management Program. He has also been an active member of their PGM Advisory Board for over 15+ years. He is a visionary and creator, having founded the PGA of Canada –Ontario Zone Three Man Scramble as well as the Nike Golf League at Angus Glen Golf Club.
Most recently, Dennis served on the golf committee for the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence Golf Tournament and was a keynote presenter for Golf Genius in their webinar series, Your Customers Know What They Want. Let’s Ask Them. He also was invited to attend the McGill University Sports Management Conference to address the audience on How to Manage Sports Special Events.
Dennis also owns and operates his own business, Firth Golf Limited and currently resides in Pointe Claire, Quebec with his wife Sarah and son Benjamin.
