Nominees should have made some significant contribution in the association or in the game golf in order to be considered. Length of the term will be two years with the option for the Board of Directors to renew the honor at the end of that term if it sees fit.

The Honorary Tournament Professional designation is to recognize Canadian Players on Tours. These players are ambassadors of the game of golf in Canada and the PGA of Canada.
