PGA of Canada 2023 National Award Finalists
The PGA of Canada is thrilled to announce the finalists for its 2023 National Awards.
Each year, a National Selection Committee evaluates nominations from professionals across Canada. The winners will be revealed on social media over the next few weeks and will be celebrated during Canada Night at the PGA Show in Orlando on January 24, 2023. Moe Norman Apprentice of the Year Award
Is the highest honour the association can bestow on a working Apprentice Professional whose total contributions to the game best exemplify the PGA of Canada Apprentice Professional. This award embraces a wide range of services executed by the Apprentice Professional.

Ben Kern Coach of the Year Award
The Ben Kern Coach of the Year Award is designed to recognize a PGA of Canada professional who is an outstanding coach among the ranks of the PGA of Canada membership. This award is based on a professional’s overall performance in coaching; unusual, innovative and special coaching programs initiated or implemented; articles published; as well as outstanding golfers the professional has coached.

Tex Noble Award for Professional Development
The Tex Noble Professional Development Award recognizes the PGA of Canada professional who is the model of life-long learning and continuing professional development. This award is designed to give special recognition to an individual PGA Professional for outstanding and continuing contributions to professional development and continuing education.

Stan Leonard Class “A” Assistant Professional of the Year Award
The Stan Leonard Class “A” Professional of the Year Award is the highest honour the Association can bestow on a working Class “A” Professional at a golf course whose total contributions to the game best exemplify the PGA of Canada Class “A” Professional. This award embraces a wide range of services executed by the assistant or associate professional.

George Knudson Teacher of the Year Award
The George Knudson Teacher of the Year Award is designed to recognize a PGA of Canada professional who is an outstanding teacher of golf among the ranks of the PGA of Canada membership. This award is based on a professional’s overall performance in teaching; unusual, innovative and special teaching programs initiated or implemented; articles published; as well as outstanding golfers the professional has instructed.

The Mike Weir Player of the Year Award
The Mike Weir Player of the Year Award recognizes as an outstanding layer among the ranks of the PGA of Canada membership. The Player of the Year will be awarded to the member who attains the most points based on the criteria within the PGA of Canada Player Rankings for the calendar year of the award.

The Brooke Henderson Female Player of the Year Award
The Brooke Henderson Female Player of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding female player among the ranks of the PGA of Canada membership. The Female Player of the Year will be awarded to the female member who attains the most points based on the criteria within the PGA of Canada Player Rankings for the calendar year of the award.

The Jack McLaughlin Junior Leader of the Year Award recognizes the PGA of Canada professional who is a leader in junior golf and who reflects the ideals of those who work with youth.

The Warren Crosbie Community Leader of the Year Award is presented annually to a member of the association who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and has gone above and beyond to make a meaningful and lasting impact within their community.

This award embraces a wide range of services executed by an Executive Professional.
