The PGA of Canada Remembers Arnold Palmer
The PGA of Canada fondly remembers the iconic Arnold Palmer who passed away on Sept. 26th at the age of 87.
Palmer was a seven-time major champion and winner of 62 PGA Tour events, his first coming at the 1955 Canadian Open at Toronto’s Weston Golf and Country Club.
"On behalf of the PGA of Canada and its' 3,700 members from across the country, I sincerely pass along my condolences to Mr. Palmer's family and friends," said PGA of Canada president Steve Wood. "Mr. Palmer was a legend like no other and will forever be remembered as 'The King' of golf."
The Latrobe, Pa., native also captured the 1980 PGA Championship of Canada the Royal Mayfair Golf and Country Club. In 2008, Palmer was named as a PGA of Canada Honorary Member and was awarded the George Cumming Distinguished Serviced Award in 2014.
Details on a memorial service and burial will be announced at a later date
