The PGA of Canada Remembers

PGA of Canada Life Member and PGA of Alberta Lifetime Achievement award winner, Clayton Robb passed away on November 2nd, 2016 at the age of 77.

Clayton is remembered by longtime partner Joan Randell, three children; Randy, Tim and Sue; and seven grandchildren.

Born on April 9th, 1939, and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Clayton first picked up a golf club under the watchful eye of then Riverside G&CC’s Head Professional Bill Turnbull, where at the age of twelve he became one of the club’s caddies. Deciding to pursue career in golf, Clayton joined the PGA of Canada in 1960 while working as an Assistant Professional at the Riverside G&CC. He went on to work as Head Professional in Saskatchewan and became a Member of the PGA of Saskatchewan Board of Directors for four years, including one year as President. In 1975, he made the move back to the Alberta Zone as the Head Professional and Director of Instruction at Pinebrook G&CC. He used his twenty five year stay to develop and pursue his greatest passion in life and made his mark as one of the most influential and talented golf instructors in the country. In 1996, Clayton was voted by his peers as Teacher of the Year. His involvement with the PGA of Alberta has been instrumental. He made a mark on everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
