The PGA of Canada Remembers

Edwin Anderson passed way at his home on Tuesday June 13, 2017. Edwin Verne Anderson of Oxford Gardens, Woodstock in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Helen McDonald (nee Inglis) Anderson (2014). Dear father to Jim and his wife Barb Anderson and Sandy and her husband Pete Poortinga. Loved grandfather of Michael, Sarah (Seth), Matthew (Catey), Karen (Olivier), Kelly, Jessica (Shawn), Kim (Sean) and great grandfather of Tyler, Megan, Abby, Paige, Hunter, Sam, Holden and Eiran. Dear brother of Jean MacKinnon and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Barb (Jim) Johnson (2003) and by his siblings; Glen, Bob, Marion Tabor and Harold.

Ed spent his entire professional career as a PGA of Canada golf professional. Beginning his career in 1945 at the Woodstock Golf Club. Then in 1959 he continued as pro at Craigowan Golf and Country Club until his retirement in 1987. Ed will be fondly remembered for his commitment and for the many people he taught the game he loved so much. Ed was also a long time Mason with Oxford Lodge, No. 76, Woodstock.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday June 16, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A private memorial service will be held by the family. Cremation has taken place. Interment in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
