PGA Members Take Lead

PGA of Canada members will head up the new Junior Golf Development Centres (JGDC) across Ontario.

The 11 centres, which are based at existing golf facilities, provide structured coaching support to bridge the existing gap between grassroots and high performance programs for young golfers in the province.

PGA of Canada members, Bradlee Ryall, BraeBen GC; Graham Castanheiro, Cedar Brae G&CC; Ryan Starr, Durham Golf Development Centre; Sean Casey, Glen Abbey GC; Meg Chapman, Georgian Bay Club; Henry Brunton, Henry Brunton Golf; Brian Gallant, London Junior Golf Development Centre; Conor O’Shea, Piper’s Heath GC; Erin Thorne, South Muskoka Golf & Curling Club; Jon Blomme, St. Catherines G&CC; and Randy McQueen, Roseland Golf & Curling Club will head up the newly minted JGDCs.

The initiative will provide interested youth with the opportunity to access comprehensive age appropriate golf programming-delivered at a national standard-providing junior participants and their families the skills and experiences designed to keep them involved with golf for life.

Each recognized JGDC provides a clear golf developmental pathway with comprehensive coaching support for golfers between the ages of 5 - 18.

Recognized JGDC's across Ontario can be identified to junior golfers and their families by looking for the JGDC seal, which is assigned by the Golf Association of Ontario in conjunction with Golf Canada and the PGA of Canada to recognize junior golf development centres adhering to a national standard of coaching and programming service.
