The PGA of Canada is pleased to announce the legendary Brian Williams will be the Master of Ceremonies for the 2013 PGA Championship of Canada and the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life Pro-Am.

With more than 30-years of sports broadcasting experience, Williams will handle the Master of Ceremonies duties on June 24th at Magna Golf Club in Aurora, Ont., for the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life Pro-Am.

“We are thrilled to have Mr. Williams as Master of Ceremonies to kick off this year’s PGA Championship of Canada,” PGA of Canada CEO, Gary Bernard says. “Over the course of his remarkable career, Mr. Williams’ respected broadcast style has endeared him to millions of Canadians,” Bernard says, adding, “Our PGA of Canada Professionals and everyone playing in the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life Pro-Am to raise money for Prostate Cancer Canada are in for a real treat.”

An Honorary Director of the PGA of Canada, Williams is a two time Canadian Screen Awards winner for his exceptional efforts at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

“I am absolutely honoured to be involved with the PGA of Canada, its historic championship and the Mr. Lube Tournament for Life Pro-Am,” Williams, who was also the Master of Ceremonies at the PGA of Canada’s Centennial in 2011, says. “I’m looking forward to the evening of June 24th at Magna Golf Club and helping raise money and awareness for a great cause.”

Born in Winnipeg, Williams reported on his first Olympic Games at the 1976 Summer Games from Montreal. He has covered every high-profile sporting event around the globe, including the NHL, Major League Baseball, PGA Tour, Canadian and World Figure Skating Championships, World Cup Skiing, Pan Am Games and Commonwealth Games.
