Canadian PGA Partners with Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Lorne Rubenstein to Write Monthly Column

(ACTON, ON) April 27, 2010 – The Canadian PGA announced today that they’ve partnered with Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Lorne Rubenstein to contribute a monthly piece on the Association’s website www.cpga.com for the public’s enjoyment and delivered into the inbox of the 3,600 Canadian PGA Professionals across the country and all members of the Canadian PGA’s public subscriber list.

'The Final Putt’ will be produced as a column or through a special interview with Canadian PGA TV and hopes to highlight and celebrate the contributions, experiences and influence of a Canadian PGA Professional on golfers all over the country.

The first edition of The Final Putt will be released on Thursday, April 29th on the Canadian PGA’s website at www.cpga.com .

“Any time you can partner with someone like Lorne Rubenstein you have to be excited,” stated Glenn Cundari, President of the Canadian PGA. “Golfers around the world have enjoyed Lorne’s writing for many years and we’re thrilled to have him on board with the Canadian PGA to write some dedicated pieces to highlight our great history.”

Rubenstein is the preeminent figure in the world of Canadian golf journalism and a member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. He has been reporting on golf for more than thirty years and his collection of work can be selected from thousands of newspaper, magazine, and Internet articles. He’s covered a wide range of subjects, including course design; swing techniques; famous players, such as Moe Norman, Jack Nicklaus, Marlene Streit, Payne Stewart, and Ben Hogan; writers, such as Stephen Leacock and Herbert Warren Wind; and reflections on the beauty and joy of the game.

“I’m thrilled to be working with the Canadian PGA,” said Rubenstein, who was featured on the Canadian PGA Radio Show on April 3rd. “I’ve been studying and writing about golf professionals for many years, from the tour player to the club professional, and I’m excited to help the Canadian PGA tell their story from its ninety-nine year history.”

The Final Putt will be released during the last week of each month on www.cpga.com .
