A Digital Guide to the 2013 PGA Championship of Canada
As anticipation builds for the PGA of Canada’s first major championship of 2013, the association is pleased to present A Digital Guide to the 2013 PGA Championship of Canada.
The digital guide features more than 35-pages of interactive content, including a history of the PGA Championship; an in-depth feature on Magna Golf Club; profiles of each of the championship’s 64 competitors; historic photos and many more interactive goodies.
“The Digital Guide to the 2013 PGA Championship of Canada is equal parts digital magazine, history book and photo album,” says the PGA of Canada’s Manager of Communications, Chris Fry. “When we set out to create the digital guide, we wanted something that would appeal to everyone—competitors, PGA of Canada members, our sponsors and partners, Canadian golf fans and the media—who flipped through it.”
The 2013 PGA Championship of Canada sponsored by Mr. Lube and presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf features 64 of the best players from the PGA of Canada Player Rankings presented by RBC June 24-28 at Magna Golf Club in Aurora, Ont.
As has been the case since the championship was relaunched in 2011, this year’s championship will be contested as a match play event with players from the four brackets—Stan Leonard, George Knudson, Al Balding and Moe Norman—looking to advance through the five rounds to the final championship match.
As part of the digital guide, readers will have an opportunity to play the PGA Championship of Canada Fantasy Challenge. The fantasy challenge is a fun and interactive online game, letting participants fill out a digital bracket of who they think will advance through the match play rounds.
“We are really excited about the PGA Championship of Canada Fantasy Challenge,” Fry says. “It’s a lot like filling out brackets for the NCAA March Madness tournament, except you’re picking your favourite PGA of Canada players to advance through the matches.”
The winner of the PGA Championship of Canada Fantasy Challenge wins a new TaylorMade R1 Driver, while second place takes home a TaylorMade R1 Golf Bag. Those who finish third through fifth will each win a dozen TaylorMade Lethal Golf Balls.
