Job Summary

The StudioX – Master Club Fitter is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the custom fitting centre (“CFC”). The CFC is a state-of-the-art custom fitting facility with a vast assortment of demo clubheads and shafts, multiple private custom fitting bays and a putter fitting platform powered by the best technology in the game.

The StudioX – Master Club Fitter will personally perform custom fittings on- and off-site, manage the appointment schedule, host club fitting events (virtual and in-person) for customers and staff, and provide training, support, and continuing education to Golf Town’s roster of current and aspiring Master Club Fitters (“MCF”). The successful individual will stay up to date on the latest developments in the world of golf and club fitting, including new methods, products, and technologies. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be responsible for every step of the custom fitting process and ensuring that Golf Town’s premium custom fitting experience is best-in-class.

The incumbent will be an expert in the game of golf and related products and services with an extensive background in club fitting, a thorough understanding of the golf swing; and a demonstrated knowledge of the science of golf as it relates to club performance, custom fitting, tools and technology.

Responsibilities

Custom Fitting:

  • Deliver a best-in-class premium club fitting experience to Golf Town’s customers
  • Assist in planning and coordinating the training schedule with the Director of Instruction (“DOI”)
  • Work with the DOI and merchandising teams to maintain the correct assortment of custom club fitting products and tools
  • Work together with other departments (e.g. marketing, visual, etc.) to ensure the CFC reaches and exceeds its objectives
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with customers and all store employees
  • Oversee and manage the entire stores custom orders from the date of purchase to delivery
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge in order to assist customers by being able to recommend the correct product to enhance player performance
  • Performs other responsibilities as required

Facilitation:

  • Run in-store product knowledge, training sessions and workshops.
  • Facilitate training via technology (i.e. webinars, conference calls, e-learning, etc.) and multi-media presentations (images, audio, and video).
  • Administer “Master Fitter Certification” sessions.
Qualifications
  • Must be an avid golfer with strong technical knowledge of equipment.
  • Experienced (“Master” level) club fitter (vendor, green grass, or retail) with demonstrated proficiency in club fitting and building
  • Experience with various club fitting and lunch monitor technologies
  • Foresight PEAK™ Level 1 Certified Professional Training
  • In-depth knowledge of golf club delivery and golf swing mechanics
  • PGA of Canada member in good standing an asset or demonstrated ability to pass the PGA of Canada Playing Ability Test
  • Ability to speak French an asset
  • 5-7 years’ experience in club fitting
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of retail operations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Superior organization, planning and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral, to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel (25%)
