- Job Summary
- The Resort Mechanic works with the Resort Grounds Superintendent and/or the Assistant Resort Grounds Superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of golf equipment and resort vehicles. The ideal candidate will be passionate about solving mechanical challenges and will have strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills while placing safety as a top priority.
- Responsibilities

- Inspect, diagnose and repair golf course equipment, developing and managing preventative maintenance programs
- Responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of all resort vehicles
- Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment condition, costs of repairs, and preventative maintenance for all equipment
- Order and maintain parts and supplies Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance staff regarding preventative maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment
- Does all the reel sharpening and height of cut adjustments
- Monitors work sent out for cost, quality, and completeness
- Oversee equipment area cleanliness and safety
- Perform emergency repairs
- Performs and organizes a routine sharpening and related maintenance program for all mowing equipment
- Presents cost-saving ideas and opportunities on a proactive basis
- Oversees tool inventories, fleet inspections, and preventative maintenance programs for all company-owned vehicles
- Assist with Golf course maintenance as needed
- Qualifications

- Knowledge of equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Experience with golf course operation
- Knowledge of WHMIS Ability to perform heavy physical labour – may be required to stand, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time
- Experience with grinding and set up of reel and rotary motors
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Possession of a valid drivers’ license.
- Compensation
- $25-$31 per hour
