
Director of Player Development: Golf Manitoba
Golf Manitoba is a not-for-profit Provincial Sports Organization (PSO) and governing body for golf in Manitoba and Northwest Ontario representing 10,500 golfers and 90 member clubs. A proud partner of Sport Manitoba and Golf Canada, Golf Manitoba’s mission is to develop, promote, govern and service the game of golf for the benefit of all participants.
Based in Winnipeg, Golf Manitoba provides core golf services including Membership and Member Club support, administration of course & slope rating and Rules of Golf & Handicapping. Golf Manitoba annually conducts 15 competitions for men, women, junior and seniors. Additionally, Golf Manitoba’s sport portfolio includes grassroots and high-performance athlete development. Golf Manitoba also manages a scholarship fund and provides support to the Manitoba Golf Hall of Fame.

- Job Summary
- The Director of Player Development will be an integral leader of Golf Manitoba’s sport initiatives focusing on player development and curriculum (grassroots to high-performance), talent identification and multi-sport games to further the mission of fostering future generations of regional golf talent. This individual will collaborate with regional and national golf industry partners to ensure that Golf Manitoba has best in class development programs and a clear pathway for athletes to progress from new competitors to the collegiate level.
- Responsibilities

- Build development pathways and grow the game strategies that align with the National Long- Term Player Development guide and Golf Canada’s Player Development Initiatives
- Design, administer and execute a Provincial Performance Program including talent identification
- Act as the Head Performance Coach for Golf Manitoba (Team Manitoba junior development program) and provide ongoing coaching support to targeted athletes on the competitive pathway
- Coach identified players on an individual or team basis at regional, provincial and national events
- Support the development of coaches in the Golf Manitoba region through mentorship and training
- Collaborate with allied partners to support enhanced excellence
- Lead Manitoba to develop the best junior and amateur golfers in Canada
- Assist in the delivery of Safe Sport policies and practices
- Qualifications

- PGA of Canada member
- Experience in teaching and coaching golf
- Preference for those with PGA of Canada specialization in Coaching
- Coach of Developing Competitor (CDC) certification as administered by the PGA of Canada will be required. If CDC certification is not held at the time of hiring, must complete training as soon as possible. Golf Manitoba will assist with training costs.

- Compensation
- • Full-time position commensurate with qualifications and experience (salary range $50-60K/year)
