- Job Summary
- The Golf Operations Manager will provide a culture where staff are motivated and enthusiastic about meeting the needs of members, public players and corporate customers. Customer Service must be at the forefront of all decisions to ensure a great experience at Victoria Park Valley Golf Club.
- Responsibilities
-
- Recruit, hire and train all golf operations staff in all day-to-day operations (Golf Shop and Back Shop)
- Organize volunteer program (Starters & Marshals)
- Manage tee sheet with focus on maximizing rounds of golf
- Control and manage play – ensure policies are being followed by staff and volunteers to ensure a positive golf experience
- Assist Tournament Organizer with implementing outside events
- Coordinate weekly Ladies League program
- Merchandising - Ensure golf shop is adequately stocked with essentials
- Manage registration for Junior Camps and Ladies Clinics
- Handle lesson inquiries and work with Teaching Professionals to ensure lesson requests are booked promptly
- Participate in weekly management meetings to ensure operational success
- Golf Cart Management
- Organize all club run events (junior events, club championship, nine and dine)
- Handle all inquiries/concerns related to the golf operation in a timely manner
- Qualifications

- Outgoing, energetic personality with exceptional customer service skills
- Able to handle a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates leadership, management, and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Previous experience in event management
- Supervisory/Management experience in golf industry
- Education related to position (Professional Golf Management/Sport Management etc.)
- PGA of Canada Member – Considered an asset, but not required
- Compensation

- Pay – Starting salary wage/salary $1000.00 -$1200.00 per week. Will negotiate based on experience and responsibilities.
Lessons (if applicable):
- Private Lessons – 90% to Professional Staff
- Clinics – 75% to Professional Staff
- Junior Camps – 60% to Professional Staff

- Meals – 1 meal per shift will be allowed. Not to include sundries or alcohol.
- PGA of Canada dues reimbursement (if applicable)
- Uniform allowance
- Full playing privileges at Victoria Park Valley and Victoria Park East
- Employment Duration

- Full-Time: March 15 to November 15
- Off Season: As needed to fulfill any administrative duties
