The Hirsch Creek Golf & Winter Club located in Kitimat, B.C. has an immediate opening for the position of Head Golf Professional.
The Hirsch Creek Golf & Winter Club is a semi-private club consisting of an 18-hole golf course, four sheet curling facility and a restaurant/ lounge area. The club has approximately 300 members and is also in partnership with the District of Kitimat to promote use of the facility by the public to a number of activities including golf, curling, snow shoeing, tobogganing and cross-country skiing.
The Hirsch Creek Golf & Winter Club is a challenging 18-hole, par 72, golf course surrounded by some of the most stunning mountain scenery in the Province. With a variety of superbly designed holes, the Course always presents members and guests with a memorable golf experience. The beautiful front 9, designed by Les Furber, winds its way through the tree lined fairways creating outstanding views from all tee boxes fairways and greens. The back 9 is an established layout that utilizes the natural terrain to form a more traditional golf experience.
The clubhouse is set amongst some of the most scenic views in Northern BC. The club has a 130 seat licensed clubhouse and deck along with the private meeting / dining room and a recently installed Full Swing Pro Golf Simulator which is available as a 12 month teaching facility.

- Job Summary
- Reporting to the General Manager, The Head Professional will be responsible for the strategic planning and management of operations, personnel, finances, and facilities of the golf and curling club.
- Responsibilities

We are seeking a Head Professional to:
- Assume full responsibility of the Golf Operation including golf, special events and corporate outings, Golf Simulator usage.
- Provide open communication and accessibility to the membership, General Manager and Board.
- Develop great member relations.
- Establish community outreach opportunities such as golf camps, Jr golf programs.

- Proven business expertise in planning, budgeting, financial management, project management, facilities and human resources and will use these skills to deliver excellence in operations management.
- Comfortable with communicating a vision, being highly visible and engaging. You will be our ambassador with members, staff, guests, industry representatives and future members.
- Ability to deliver an excellent member and guest experience, which drives your proven ability to lead a team of friendly, engaging, service oriented staff and volunteers.
- Your education and experience demonstrate your comprehension of the many skills required for this role and that you can build and sustain relationships and produce results.
- Experience and understanding of hospitality, golf, and recreation, having a strong understanding of running profitable food and bar services.
- An excellent track record of teaching, coaching a developing a strong junior programme bringing the opportunity of golf and curling to all the young people within our community, providing appropriate solutions for those who potentially cannot afford to take part for themselves.
Qualifications being sought:
- Class “A” Professional in good standing with the PGA of Canada.
- Post-Secondary Degree in Golf Management and/or Business Management.
- Very detail oriented with a strong focus on exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Managerial experience in the food and beverage area would be an asset
- Proficient computer skills in particular Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word) and previous use of Integrated Business Solutions (IBS) Club Software considered an asset.
- Compensation
- Base of $65K-$75K annually, based on experience
