Head Golf Professional: The Track Golf Course

The Track Golf Course is a public 18 hole golf course located 20 minutes east of Calgary in Langdon, Alberta. We are a community golf course that continually looks at ways to be innovative and provide our customers with memorable golfing experiences and events. Striving to provide value to our customers in a fun and inclusive setting is our purpose. In addition to the 18 holes, there is an outdoor practice facility with a large grass driving range and putting green. The Track also operates a full service dining room, The BackTrack Lounge, and has a large event space for weddings, tournaments and private events.

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as our Head Golf Professional. Reporting directly to the company directors, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the management of all aspects of the golf operations. All duties of the position will be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service. The positive experience of our passholders and public guests is of the highest priority, as is the respect for our local community.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall golf experience for players, including innovative programs and services.
  • Market and manage annual passholder memberships.
  • Develop and execute events and programs for passholders
  • Develop and execute Ladies and Men’s Nights and junior programs.
  • Organize and execute tournaments and events.
  • Hire, train and manage all golf department employees including: Assistant Professionals, Pro Shop Attendants, Marshalls and Starters and Outside Service staff
  • Build a staff culture that fosters positivity, productivity, and a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop teaching programs for a broad spectrum of golfers, including a comprehensive Junior Program.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with passholders, the public, team members and the community at all times.
  • Handle guest complaints or issues with diplomacy and efficiency.
  • Ensure all systems are updated and functional including POS.
  • Manage golf shop inventory. Including purchasing, merchandising, and pricing.
  • Implement and enforce all club policies and procedures related to golf operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Ensure department budget is strictly adhered to, revenue maximized and expenses controlled
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Class A Golf Professional in good standing with the PGA of Canada
  • Current First Aid certificate preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, members, and guests.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in golf industry software and technology, including tee time reservation systems, point of sale systems, and tournament management software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and tournament formats.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the golf course and golf shop for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry golf bags, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Compensation
  • Salary Range $76,000 - $81,500 per year depending on expertise/experience
  • 100% of teaching revenue Performance and Profitability bonus.
