Seaview Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole course that features stunning views of the North Sydney harbor. We offer a full service Pro Shop, Simulator, practice facilities, clubhouse, and canteen services. Both Ladies and Men’s Leagues of the club are very active, while our Junior and Pre-Junior programs have consistently enjoyed full enrolments since their inception. Throughout the golf season we offer a number of club tournaments and also support our community in hosting corporate events. Previously, we have proudly hosted a number of Nova Scotia Golf Association provincial championship events, including the Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, Men’s Amateur Championship, Boys and Girls Junior Championships, Ladies 4-Ball Championship, and Men’s Senior 4-Ball Championship.

- Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the capacity of Head Golf Professional. The ideal candidate for this permanent full-time position must have well developed leadership skills, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service, along with proven ability in leading and overseeing day to day operations of the golf facility, planning and delivering varied instructional programs, and event management.
- Responsibilities

- The Head Golf Professional is responsible to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all facets of the golf facility, including the Pro Shop day to day functions (i.e. retail management, club fittings, etc), Simulators, and practice areas.
- Maintains an adequate complement of human resources, recruiting as necessary. Train new employees, monitor progress, evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback.
- Build relationships with employees, focusing on teamwork and customer service.
- Develop and deliver instructional and coaching programs for individuals, groups, and clinics.
- Provide direction for member golf leagues, as well as member, corporate, and charity tournaments.
- Implement and promote uptake of policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors. Ensure compliance and take remedial action where required.
- Engage in ongoing monitoring of financial indicators and golf related statistics, developing remedial measures where necessary.
- Maintain a visible presence, as it relates to golf operations and build some time into the weekly schedule to play golf with members of all skill levels.
- Promote workplace safety, ensuring all employees adhere to legislative and policy requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Serve as a role model in fostering respectful relationships with the public, co-workers, members of the club, vendors, and external organizations.
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, as required and perform other duties, as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Class ‘A’ Golf Professional in good standing with the PGA of Canada
- Successful completion of a post-secondary Degree/Diploma in golf related or other studies.
- At least three years of successful experience in the golf industry.
SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Fluent and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Current First Aid Certificate required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Compensation

- Starting salary at $60,000 per year.
- Annual salary increments based on satisfactory performance.
- Commission program under review.
