Founded in 1921, Brampton Golf Club (BGC) boasts a proud history that spans over a century. Located in the heart of Brampton, Ontario, BGC is a community-focused, member-friendly golf course that offers an enjoyable and welcoming atmosphere.
BGC's 18-hole championship course has provided the backdrop for countless memorable golf moments. We are honored to have been named the 2023 Club of the Year by the Club Management Association of Canada (CMAC), solidifying our reputation as one of the top private clubs in the country.
Our practice facilities are second to none: A full driving range, short game area, and three indoor simulators allow Brampton members to work on their game and improve their skills.
Over the years, BGC has played host to numerous provincial and national championships, welcoming both amateur and professional players. In 2023, BGC proudly hosted the prestigious World Junior Girls Championship, showcasing our ability to attract and host world-class events. As a key member of our private golf club's leadership team, the Head Golf Professional plays a vital role in enhancing the member experience at our club. The Head Golf Professional will be developing and overseeing golf programs, executing events, managing the golf shop, and ensuring overall member and guest satisfaction. This role is at the centre of our member experience and requires places an emphasis on leadership and staff development.
The ideal candidate will be a Class “A” Member of the PGA of Canada, with prior experience as a Head Pro or senior assistant at a club with a high volume of rounds and that hosts many competitions/tournaments. Also, the ideal candidate will have a high business acumen, be an excellent retailer, possess strong communication skills, be expert in Golf industry technology, and have experience in leading a team.

- Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Golf Operations:
- Manage golf course operations, monitor pace of play, enforce club policies, and enhance the overall course experience.
- Collaborate with the golf course superintendent to maintain course conditions.
- Implement an operational excellence strategy in back-shop staging areas and the driving range.
- Improving efficiency through smart technology integration.
- Lead a dynamic team of assistant golf professionals, golf shop staff, and teaching assistants, emphasizing a tech-savvy, motivated, and collaborative environment.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of growth, respect and excellence.
Member Relations:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with club members in a friendly and professional manner
- Address member and guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally.
- Cultivate an inclusive golfing environment that welcomes members of all backgrounds and abilities.
Member Event & Tournament Coordination:
- Organize, promote and manage club tournaments and events, employing technology to streamline tournament logistics and ensure a seamless member experience.
- Ensure efficient and equitable competition by using technology to handle handicapping and rules enforcement. – Experience with Jonas & Golf Genius is preferred
- Attract suitable outside corporate events that will maximize revenue while inconveniencing member play as little as possible.
Game Improvement:
- Design and implement a game improvement strategy for Brampton Members
- Develop and execute golf clinics, lessons, and programs that cater to all skill levels, ensuring their successful implementation by the teaching staff.
- Ensures that programs are available year-round through use of our simulators in the off-season.
- Spearhead innovative game improvement programs for members, with a strong focus on junior golf development, fostering the next generation of golfers.
Golf Shop Management:
- Maintain the golf shop's appearance and functionality, utilizing technology for efficient inventory control and purchasing, ensuring members have access to the latest golf equipment and apparel.
- Develop and implement a successful retail business plan/model that aligns with market trends and member preferences. Embrace technology where it enhances member shopping experiences.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets.
- Managing the golf department's budget with the ability to forecast and adjust operations accordingly to meet budget expectations.
- Elevate customer service standards to provide tailored recommendations and exceptional experiences for members and guests.
- Qualifications

- PGA Class A Membership or equivalent certification preferred.
- Extensive experience in golf instruction and golf shop management, with a demonstrated proficiency in golf-related technology.
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, tournament operations, and course etiquette
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a focus on tech-enhanced member engagement.
- Leadership and team management experience
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
