The Head Golf Professional will oversee the day-to-day golf operations at Bigwin Island Golf Club. As a key member of our Private Club’s leadership team, The Head Professional will lead our team of 6 Assistant Professionals and over 25 Golf Services employees.
Ideally, this candidate will have vast experience at a Private Golf Club, with a keen focus on high level of service, coaching/instruction with a strong business acumen. Other ideal assets would include retail focus, extremely strong communication skills and past experiences of leadership and developing a team.

· Opened for play in 2001
· Hosted the PGA of Canada Championship in 2023
· Operating season is mid-May to Thanksgiving Monday (13,000-14,000 Rounds of Golf annually)
· 6 PGA of Canada Professionals on staff, including a year-round Golf Shop Manager
· High demand for instruction & programming
· Practice Range renovation in 2019
· Bunker renovation in 2017
· Healthy Membership with a lengthy wait list

Responsibilities
· Coordination and execution of all Member events
· Monitor outside service staff and ensure exceptional levels of customer services are met
· Promote and provide lessons and club fitting, utilizing the equipment provided
· Maintain a healthy playing relationship with the membership
· Have direct responsibility in the Retail Operation with merchandising, inventory control and sales
· Providing world-class service to Members and Guests
· Promote the Club and facilities with the highest regard
· Oversee the Golf Shop operations in conjunction with the Golf Shop Manager
· Supervising and assisting the Golf Services staff (approximately 30 staff)
· Oversee merchandising, pricing, and inventory control. This will include end of month physical counts
· Maintain proper and accurate business records reflecting revenue and cost of golf operation
· Club fitting and club repair
· Conducting private lessons and develop and manage the Junior Program and Member Clinics & Golf Camps
· Liaising with the Professional staff for tournament organization
· Supervise and train all golf staff and lead by example
· Maintain a clean, organized, and well-kept Golf Shop
· Assist in the development and preparation of the golf operation budget, monitoring throughout the season
· To serve the needs of the member in accordance with the operational and health & safety policies and procedures outlined in the Bigwin Island Golf Club orientation manual, policies and procedures booklet and your detailed job description
· Attend education conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows
- Qualifications

· Class A PGA of Canada Member in good standing
· Positive, professional attitude and a team player with strong interpersonal skills
· Excellent member service, sales, and organizational skills
· Club fitting and equipment (Trackman & Foresight) knowledge in an asset
· Experienced instructor conducting Private lessons/clinics & camps
· Knowledge of supplies, merchandise, vendors, as well as inventory control of these items
· High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
· Ability to interpret and implement company rules, policies and procedures
· Experienced Microsoft Word and Excel user. Proficient in other applications, i.e. Golf Genius, EZGO pace etc.
· Knowledge of Northstar is an asset
· Previous experience in the Private Club industry is considered an asset
