General Manager / Head Professional: Batteaux Creek Golf Club
Batteaux Creek was designed by architect Stephen Young on over 250 acres and opened for play in 2002. Mr. Young is best known as the architect of Grey Silo Golf Course in Waterloo, three-time host of the LPGA’s Manulife Classic. Batteaux Creek (while lesser known), is every bit the equal of its sister course. His design features manicured bentgrass fairways, oversized true rolling greens, and hazards in the form of plentiful bunkers. Add to that, the natural areas, lakes, and ponds, which create numerous risk/reward opportunities. An inviting board & batten clubhouse is situated at the end of the lane, overlooking one of the three main ponds on the golf course. Clubhouse features include great food, comfortable lounges, and views of the course and Blue Mountain.
The presentation of the teeing areas has been thoughtfully calculated, as the five sets play from 7,003 – 5309 yards. This system of evenly dispersing the yardages allows for golfers of all skill levels to choose a set of tees that matches their game. Typical of Stephen Young designs, it’s easy enough for higher handicaps to play bogey golf, but even low handicap players will need to bring their best game for par.
