Cedarhurst Golf Club, located in Beaverton, Ontario celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022. A Stanley Thompson design, the course is recognized as a good test of golf for all players. Recent upgrades at Cedarhurst include a newly renovated clubhouse and drainage improvements among many others. The course is a non-profit entity with a growing, active membership and volunteer board keen on continuing a proud history.

- Job Summary
- The General Manager is the senior operating manager within the organization and as such is responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of the club. The position reports to the volunteer Board Of Directors.
- Responsibilities
-
- Being the leader in the operation of the golf club.
- Maintaining a positive relationship with the members. Identifying areas of concern and addressing them quickly and effectively. Initiating new programs to enhance member and public player enjoyment.
- Maintaining regular email communication with the members.
- Management of the Pro Shop, Back Office, Driving Range, Junior Golf Program, Greens Superintendent and Restaurant Operator.
- Liaise with the Club Captains to provide member golf programs.
- Drive the merchandising program.
- Hiring and management of all staff within the GM's responsibilities. Establishing programs to develop staff. Be a mentor.
- Management of Lightspeed and other computer systems.
- Preparation of the annual golf schedule and management of tournaments, special events, etc.
- Chair and/or participate in key committees such as marketing.
- Preparation of an annual plan and budget.
- Regular participation at Board Meetings. Active participation in planning the strategic direction of the club.
- Building and maintaining relationships within the community to advance the interests of the Club.
- Qualifications

You will have experience in all aspects of golf course management. Your present role should be General Manager or Assistant General Manager ready for the next step in your career. You have formal education in course management, business, marketing and other programs that demonstrate your desire to progress and succeed. You have progressed steadily in your career. Member of PGA of Canada.
On a personal level you are positive, outgoing and innovative. You have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate staff at all levels. You enjoy interaction with members and the public. You are a problem solver. You have excellent written communication skills. You are comfortable speaking to groups and hosting tournaments. You are detail orientated. A familiarity with Lightspeed would be an advantage
- Compensation

The annual compensation package will be commensurate with your experience and qualifications, with a range of $65,000 - $100,000. An annual performance bonus will be part of the total compensation package.
