- Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled General Manager to lead our team at Maple City Country Club. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of club operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and member satisfaction. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, exceptional organizational skills, and business acumen. An understanding of the golf and hospitality industries would be an asset. The General Manager will report directly to the Board of Directors and be responsible for administering club policies and bylaws and regular reporting to the Board.
- Responsibilities

- Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership to all departments, including golf operations, food and beverage, finance, events, and maintenance. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Member Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally to always ensure an exceptional member experience. Provide ongoing, transparent, and timely communications with members regarding club activities.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations of the club, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services. Implement, administer, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the club's budget, ensuring financial goals are met. Monitor financial performance, control costs, and implement strategies to increase revenue.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and mentor staff to maintain high standards of service and professionalism. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and support.
- Marketing and Promotion: Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new members and promote club events. Enhance the club's visibility and reputation within the community.
- Event Planning: Oversee the planning and execution of club and outside events, ensuring they meet/exceed the expectations of members and guests. Collaborate with the event’s organizers to create memorable experiences.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure the club's facilities and grounds are well-maintained and meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Promote a safe and secure environment for members, guests, and staff.
- Board Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to the Board of Directors on club operations, financial performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Policy Maintenance: Ensure all club policies are up-to-date and adhered to by staff and members. Recommend policy updates and improvements to the Board of Directors.
- Strategic Contribution: Develop and propose strategic initiatives and long-term goals for the club. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to gain approval and implement approved strategies to drive the club's growth and success.
- Qualifications

- A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership and management experience.
- Experience in the club and golf industry is preferred.
- A Certified Club Manager (CCM) or PGA of Canada designation is encouraged, with further certifications being of interest, together with a commitment to ongoing and lifelong learning and networking.
- A post secondary degree in Business or a related program.
- Experience reporting to a Board and an understanding of governance is preferred.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in the development, management, and reporting of operating/capital budgets and financial performance.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of employees.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Passion for delivering exceptional member driven experiences.
- Self-starter, results oriented, and hands-on when needed.

Competitive salary: $100,000.00 to $140,000.00 based on qualifications and experience, and performance-based incentives.
