PGA of Canada Associate / Apprentice Golf Professional

The Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club is currently seeking a PGA of Canada Apprentice/Associate Golf Professional for the 2024 season.

With a rich history dating back to 1908, The Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club has been the site of many renowned championship events including a Men’s Canadian Open and the 2022 CP Women’s Open.

A course that continually engages, intrigues and excites, the Ottawa Hunt offers three rolling parkland nines set over 225 acres. The North, South, and West courses each offer nine holes of distinct golf, all of which can be played in any combination to offer outstanding 18-holes routings.

Job Summary
The successful candidate will be actively involved in the professional team. He/she will report directly to the Head Golf Professional and will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
  • Retail sales and merchandising, inventory management, product knowledge, record keeping, and administrative duties. 
  • Assist in execution of all club events, member leagues and corporate events.
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional with purchasing for the Professional Shop.
  • Attend the annual golf show and meet with sales representatives.
  • Assist in hiring key personnel, as well as implementing and enforcing standard operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Jonas POS and tee management program will be a definite asset.
  • Lead/assist our Junior Golf Program
  • Club fitting and repairs.
  • Teaching, private lessons, and clinics.
  • Providing first class service to members and guests
  • Club fitting and club repair
  • Playing a reasonable amount of golf with members of all abilities
Qualifications
  •  PGA of Canada member in good standing
  •  Working towards PGM degree
  •  Proven excellence in member services, sales and organizational skills
  •  Positive, professional attitude and a team player with strong interpersonal skills
  •  Club fitting and equipment knowledge
  •  Knowledge of JONAS Point of sales system, GGGolf and Golf Genuis will be considered an asset
Compensation
  •  Weekly salary based on experience and responsibilities
  •  100% of Lesson Revenue from Members lesson
