Windermere Golf and Country Club is a private club that was established in 1957 in the river valley in southwest Edmonton. From 2002-2005, the golf course and practice facility went through a revitalization that changed all grass on greens, tees and fairways. In 2011, the stunning new clubhouse was opened and we now get to enjoy the amazing course and facilities as a result of the vision of the membership. Windermere has rated in the Top 60 in the Score Golf Top 100 Golf Courses in Canada for the past 8 years. Windermere strives to be “THE GOLFER’S PRIVATE CLUB OF CHOICE”.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Golf Professional to join our team at Windermere Golf & Country Club in Edmonton, Alberta. You will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional golf experience for our members and guests. We are looking for a golf professional that is eager to learn, grow and fits in with the team culture.
Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service to all members and guests, creating a welcoming and enjoyable golf environment.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting golf lessons, clinics, and workshops for players of all skill levels.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing golf tournaments, and special events.
  • Participate in golf course operations, including tee time management and player assistance on the course.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and trends to provide accurate information and guidance to players.
  • Collaborate with the Head Golf Professional to enhance the overall golf experience and achieve club revenue goals.
  • Continuously develop personal golf skills and teaching techniques to provide the highest level of instruction to players.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive golf community by engaging with members, guests, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
Qualifications
  • PGA Professional in good standing o Apprentices and Class A members will be considered.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Ability to provide quality golf instruction and player development.
    • Experience running a junior golf program is an asset.
  • Proven track record of exceptional customer service in a golf or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of golf equipment, retail operations, and merchandising.
  • Familiarity with golf tournament organization and management.
  • Proficiency in golf-related technology and software.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Passion for the game of golf and a genuine desire to share that passion with others.
Compensation
  • Base salary between $45,000 - $55,000.
    • Opportunities to play and teach “on shift.”
  • Incentive Potential – Based on targets and agreed upon KPI.
  • Estimated Teaching Revenues in 1st year $10,000 - $20,000.
  • Medical and dental benefits etc. (additional health spending account provided)
  • RRSP matching, up to 2.5% of base salary.
  • 3 weeks of vacation to be used annually.
  • 90% of Lesson Revenue.
