Job Summary
The Associate Golf Professional provides an integral role in the delivery of exceptional golf experiences for members and guests. This role involves overseeing golf services, supporting the golf instruction program, and assisting in the overall management of golf operations.
Responsibilities
  • Golf Operations:
    • Lead daily operations including supervision of opening and closing procedures, scheduling, managing the tee sheet, and delivering a high level of member and guest services.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to all Assistant/Apprentice Professionals and Pro Shop team members.
    • Lead all major major golf events at the club.
    • Supervise golf staff including starters, range attendants, etc., ensuring adherence to club policies and professional standards.
    • Monitor pace of play and address issues promptly and diplomatically with members and guests.
    • Support fellow team members with the delivery of league play.
    • Maintain a strong knowledge of the Rules of Golf, World Handicap System (WHS), equipment, apparel trends, current teaching methodologies, and overall industry trends.
  • Instruction and Coaching:
    • Provide private lessons and collaborate with the professional team, including the Director of Instruction, to organize and facilitate junior golf camps and clinics
    • Support the Director of Instruction in enhancing the club’s teaching offerings.
  • Retail and Inventory Management:
    • Assist with merchandising in the Pro Shop, including displays, promotions, and inventory control.
    • Ensure retail items align with member preferences and maintain quality standards.
  • Member Engagement:
    • Foster strong relationships with members to understand their preferences and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
    • Act as a representative of the club, maintaining professionalism and courtesy at all times.
Qualifications
  • PGA of Canada Class ‘A’ Member.
  • Team player, focused on the overall success of the golf department and the club as a whole.
  • Proven experience in golf operations, instruction, and member relations.
  • Motivated and fulfilled by providing a high level of customer service.
  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback to further growth.
  • Strong knowledge of tournament software, tee sheet management systems, and other golf technologies. (Jonas, GGGolf, Golf Genius, ForeSight)
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Retail merchandising experience is an asset.
  • 3-5 years experience at a private golf club is an asset.
Compensation
Annual Salary of 60K+ with the opportunity to earn more based on performance, bonus, teaching, etc.
