Job Summary

As a key member of our golf operations team, the Golf Services Supervisor plays an integral role. Working in tandem with the Director of Golf and another PGA of Canada professional, this position is devoted to maintaining the smooth execution of our golf services, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests throughout their visit to The Algonquin Resort Golf Course.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team composed of Players’ Assistants, Starters, Outside Services, and the Golf Shop staff.
  • Demonstrate robust leadership qualities, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment through constructive feedback, coaching, and counselling of associates.

Golf Culture and Guest Interactions:

  • Instruct associates to fully embrace and celebrate the world of golf, encompassing its traditions, rules, and etiquette.
  • Encourage associates to engage in meaningful conversations and assist guests as required.

Flexibility:

  • Showcase adaptability by undertaking various tasks to support the overall golf operation.
  • Exhibit versatility in handling diverse responsibilities as the situation demands.
Qualifications
  • Certified and current PGA of Canada Member or equivalent PGA Nationally recognized association, or working towards such a designation is a strong asset.
  • Positive attitude with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple duties under pressure
  • Focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Ability to work flexible hours – including weekends and evenings
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Previous experience in retail is an asset

Role Requirements:

  • Availability for a schedule involving day, evening, night, and weekend work.
  • Physical requirements, including long hours of movement, lifting objects up to 50lbs, and various physical activities associated with the golf operation.
Compensation

Base salary:

  • Starting at $1500 paid bi-weekly, commensurate with experience

  • 80% of lesson revenue is paid to the professional.
