Associate/Assistant Professional: The Thornhill Club
The Thornhill Club (formerly the Thornhill Golf & Country Club) was established in 1922 and is home to over 1,300 members. It provides golf, curling, tennis, fitness, swimming, bridge, and social facilities in a family-oriented environment.
Thornhill has hosted the 1945 Canadian Open, 2008 Men’s Mid-Amateur, 2009 Toronto Star Amateur, 2011 Ontario Women’s Mid-Amateur, 2014 Canadian Junior Girls and the 2016 Ontario Men’s Amateur and most recently the 2022 Canadian Men’s Mid-Am.
It boasts two gorgeous golf courses; an 18-hole championship, Par 71 course accompanied by a 9-hole Par 31 executive course designed by Stanley Thompson; five ForeSight golf simulator bays; three Har-Tru clay tennis courts, six sheets of curling ice, two fitness studios, a gym, dining facilities, and meeting rooms. The Club is very well located on Yonge St. in the GTA, easily accessible by Hwy 407 and 401, between Hwy 400 and the 404.

- Job Summary
- The Thornhill Club is currently seeking an Assistant/ Associate PGA Professional, who is dynamic and service-driven, to help lead our Golf Shop and Golf Services Teams. The successful candidate will be member-focused, in delivering exceptional member and guest experiences including the following responsibilities:
- Responsibilities

- Provide member services at levels associated with a premium private Club;
- Assist Captain and oversee Men’s Valley Section events;
- Organize and manage the Club’s Reciprocal programs;
- Oversee and manage member Power Caddy program;
- Lead indoor, winter simulator programs;
- Assist with Jr. clinics and camps;
- Support Golf Events Coordinator with member tournaments;
- Promote and participate with manufacturer Demo/Fitting Days;
- Assist/support Golf Shop Manager with merchandising/presentation of the Professional Shop;
- Adhere to club’s Employee, and Health & Safety standards and policies.
- Qualifications
-
- PGA of Canada member, in good standing,
- Strong communication skills;
- Works well in a positive, team environment;
- Goal-oriented, out-going personality with desire to exceed expectations;
- Tournament and event management experience;
- Instructional & Fitting certification and experience;
- Experience with Jonas, Golf Genius, ForeSight and ForeTees is an asset.
