Assistant/Associate Golf Professional: Pheasantback Golf Course

Situated in Central Alberta, you'll find the Pheasantback Golf Course. Pheasantback is a semi-private 18 hole facility, located just north of Stettler, in the heartland of Alberta. Pheasantback is a privately owned business that opened in 1995.


With new ownership taking over in 2014, countless resources have been put into the facility to elevate Pheasantback into a must play. Some of the new additions include: renovated aqua driving range, complete bunker renovations, 100 new trees planted annually, new irrigation system, new 2023 & 2024 electric ClubCar cart fleet, new on-course bathrooms and rain shelters along with many other renovations scheduled such as a new clubhouse and paved cart paths in 2026!

Job Summary
Pheasantback is seeking the services of a driven individual who would like to join the Pheasantback team as our Assistant/ Associate Golf Professional with the potential of promotion to Head Golf Professional. The successful applicant will play a key role in all aspects of the facility operations. While working under our Head Golf Professional and Associate Professional, you will have the opportunity to learn from over 60 years of combined golf operations management.
Responsibilities
  • Teaching lessons/clinics throughout the season.
  • Oversee all course rules and stipulations.
  • Operate weekly Men’s, Ladies and Junior Leagues.
  • Meets and greets all members & guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Responsible for booking tee times for guests, by phone and review all online bookings.
  • Maintaining the cart fleet and always ensuring the location of carts through our GPS Visage system.
  • Perform light cleaning duties to ensure the pro shop and cart fleet are clean and organized at all times.
  • Reconcile all sales transactions with accuracy and care.
  • Keep management informed of any incidents or concerns as related to our members & guests.
  • Work closely with tournament recruitment, organization, preparation and execution.
  • Assist in Advertising & Sponsorship sales and promotion.
Qualifications
  • Must be a PGA of Canada Member.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work as part of our team.
  • Enthusiastic about golf instruction to golfers of all abilities.
  • Candidate must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and excel in public relations and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and stay calm during hectic situations.
  • Ability to utilize and fully prepare during down times.
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Word as well as point of sale and booking software (Tee-On).
Compensation
  • $3500 - $4000 Monthly
  • 100% of Lessons Revenue
  • Mid-season Bonus
  • Year-end Bonus -Possibility of future year-round employment and potential promotion to Head Golf Professional.
