Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Golf Professional, the Assistant Professional will be a key member to our Golf Operation and is responsible to provide leadership and execution in the planning and delivery of all duties related to the retail operation and Golf Shop services operation. To provide a high-quality, safe and valued experience for both the members and staff. The Assistant Professional is also responsible for fulfilling all duties listed in the Duties and Responsibilities section. This position is all encompassing of management, operational duties and progressive strategies.
Responsibilities

MAJOR FUNCTIONS 

  • Lead in management of all Golf Shop inventory items.
  • Lead in the management of all invoicing procedures.
  • Lead in the management of all ordering and receiving protocols.
  • Lead in the execution of our retail plan and strategies.
  • Provide an exceptional golf experience for members and guests
  • Provide an exceptional lesson experience for members and guests
  • Act as a leader to the Golf Shop Staff
  • Provide a safe and exciting work environment for the Golf Shop Staff
  • Assist in the training of staff with the intention of providing an exceptional member service

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retail Management
    • Assist the Head Golf Professional in creating the procedures for ordering and receiving products, while keeping an up-to-date supplier catalogue.
    • Assist in managing shift changes, sick calls, no-shows etc.
    • Providing a Pro Shop schedule to all employees working in the Golf Shop.
    • Assist the Head Golf Professional in creating the Golf Shop orientation and leading the merchandising, ordering and receiving portion of the orientation.
    • Provide all staff with detailed instructions on how to best complete daily tasks.
    • Train, motivate and lead staff in providing an exceptional member experience.
    • Execute the completion of all club invoicing and entering inventory into the P.O.S. system.
    • Work directly with the Head Professional to develop a sales and merchandising strategy for the Golf Shop and manage execution.
    • Working directly with the Head Professional, managing shop sales including sales ideas, unique display ideas, sell throughs and member service.
    • Offer a unique sales experience to all members and guests.
    • Manage cleanliness of Golf Shop including all displays and carpet areas.
  • Other Duties
    • Provide an exceptional lesson and club fitting experience to members and guests.
    • Help organize, promote and execute all Club Tournaments and other special events/functions at the Club.
    • Execute day to day operations of the Golf Shop and entire golf operation.
    • Assist in practice facility management.
    • Ensure daily assignments are completed in their respective areas to meet Club standards.
    • Notify supervisors of member/guest complaints at the time they occur and resolve customer complaints as soon as possible.
    • Perform additional duties they arise and may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • PGA of Canada Member in Good Standing or pursuing Membership
  • Knowledge in Basic Computer Skills including POS, Word, Excel, Canva
  • Excellent Organization and Communication Skills
  • Highly Responsible and Reliable
  • Retail Savvy
  • Customer Service Oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Desire to grow their career
  • Experience with Golf Genius considered an asset
  • Experience Coaching Golf considered an asset
  • Experience Club Fitting considered an asset
  • Experience in Club Repair considered an asset
Compensation
  • $3,300 - $3,750 / Month
  • Hourly pay work available during the off-season
