Located on Bloor Street just west of the 427, membership at our club provides a golf experience of the highest calibre featuring a warm atmosphere, welcoming ambiance and a service level to match the glorious conditions that the members love. Our course is truly one of the most enjoyable walks in the city.
Markland Wood Golf Club is a private member facility in the West end of Toronto. It is located on the Etobicoke and Mississauga border as the Etobicoke Creek meanders through the property. The 18-hole golf course is kept in pristine condition and the friendly atmosphere makes Markland Wood a premiere golfing community. The management team and staff are committed to delivering an outstanding golfing experience for both members and their guests. Our membership share a passion for golf, proven by there active participation on the tee sheet and at club events.

Markland Wood Golf Club is seeking a motivated Golf Professional to join our team for the 2025 season. The desired applicant must be ready and willing to step into a key role of the Pro Shop team. The ideal candidate is looking to develop as a well rounded professional and expand their skills in club operations. This position offers a tremendous opportunity to gain experience under supervision of our event management, retail, and instructional leads.
The Golf Professional will report directly to the Head Professional as an integral part of the Pro Shop team. They will support the team in executing the daily golf operations and providing an excellent golfing experience for all members and guests.
- Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Exceptional Member Experience o Member greetings o Jonas Check-Ins o Power Cart, Guest Fee Billings
- Facilitate Daily Operational Requirements
- Match Play scorecard & Golf Canada processing
- Assist in execution of club events
- Assist in member instructional programs, individual teaching
- Assist in retail sales and inventory management
Other Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily golf operations under the direction of the Head Professional
- Enforce club rules and regulations
- Tee time management, handle incoming phone calls for bookings and event management
- Carry out opening and closing details including till reconciliation and site security
- Process payments including shop purchases and guest fees
- Ensure the golf shop is kept organized, tidy, and is always well presented
- Supervise outside services and ensure duties are being completed
- Administrative duties as assigned by the Head Professional
- Teach lessons, clinics, and assist in the junior program
- Working hours based on daily demands. Flexibility is required (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Qualifications

- PGA of Canada member in good standing
- Experience with Golf Genius and JONAS software
- Fundamental knowledge of the Rules of Golf and WHS handicapping
- Fundamental knowledge of club fitting and club repair
- Desire to exceed member expectations
- Work effectively in a team structure with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Computer literate with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with TrackMan an asset
- Compensation

Starting salary ranges between $1,000 - $1,250 per week based on the experience of the candidate and how well they align with the role.
