The Nanaimo Golf Club is looking for a strong outgoing hands-on leader to work as a Food & Beverage Services Manager who can help run our Food & Beverage operations. With a state of the art 23,000 Sq. Ft. clubhouse and a premier 18-hole championship golf course, we cater to our Club Members and Guests. We are looking for a result driven, service minded individual, who is skilled in providing a great club dining & catering experience to our diverse set of Members and Guests. The Food & Beverage Services Manager will lead the F&B team, along with our Head Chef & Catering Coordinator, working to ensure our Food & Beverage operations meet the high expectations of our Club Members and Guests. The ability to maintain a high profile within the Golf Club, while having the ability to interact positively and professionally with Members, Guests, and Staff alike, is essential.
- Responsibilities

- Establish and deliver high standards of service that are responsive to the needs of our Members and Guests.
- Daily inspections of the whole operation focusing on cleanliness, inventory levels, ambiance and service flow.
- Highly visible and approachable, interacting professionally with Members and Guests.
- Business professional grooming and attire is expected for this role.
- Service staff recruiting, training, scheduling, directing, motivating, rewarding and disciplining.
- Working with the Head Chef, Kitchen staff recruiting, training, scheduling, directing, motivating, rewarding and disciplining.
- Ability to manage a unionized workforce, within the parameters of the collective agreement
- Work closely with Catering Coordinator, Head Chef and Event Organizers to ensure smooth service before, during and after events.
- Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with all supporting F&B personnel and other department heads.
- Working within the budget, have the ability to manage expenses, COG’s and labor related to the F&B department.
- Oversee daily, weekly ordering with monthly Inventories.
- Menu planning, control, and implementation, including use of JONAS software.
- This role will require adaptable and flexible work schedule as the business demands. Days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This position can be physically demanding at times, where you will be required to be on your feet for several hours, assist setting of events, and be able to lift and carry items up to 50lbs..
- Qualifications

- 5 years’ experience in all facets of Food & Beverage operations; a minimum 2 years management experience is essential.
- Previous Golf Club or Resort experience is an asset
- Previous experience in managing a unionized workforce is an asset.
- Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Computer literacy in MS Office and POS systems.
- Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certificates.
- Consent to a Criminal Record Check for successful candidate.
- Have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with clean Driver’s Abstract for successful candidate.
- Wine & beverages knowledge.
- Must be willing to relocate to the Nanaimo area.
- Compensation

- Starting annual salary of $47,000
- The Club will offer an attractive compensation package, commensurate with experience, which will include a competitive base salary, event sales compensation, and benefits.
