This advanced, six-module online course is designed for seasoned managers in the golf and private club industry, with a minimum of five years of management experience. Led by Jim Hope, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Derrick Golf and Winter Club in Edmonton, this course offers an in-depth exploration of best practices in club governance. Jim brings 38 years of experience in the club business, having managed prestigious clubs such as Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, Earl Grey Golf Club, Kelowna Golf and Country Club, and Nanaimo Golf Club, after beginning his career at Bearspaw Country Club in Calgary.
Throughout this course, Jim will guide you through critical topics such as governance structures, board performance, stakeholder relations, and proposal development, providing you with practical tools and strategies to enhance your club’s leadership and governance practices. With his extensive background in club governance and his experience leading education sessions for the Club Managers Association of Canada, Jim is uniquely qualified to help you elevate your club’s operational and strategic standards.
